How to revert the "Fulfilled by Gelato" status in your Shopify?

This article provides a step-by-step guide on how to revert the "Fulfilled by Gelato" status within your Shopify store. This process is particularly useful for custom setups involving Shopify and third-party apps that necessitate this specific status change.


Reverting Fulfillments

The process of reverting a fulfillment differs depending on the current state of the fulfillment:

Fulfillment in Request State

To cancel a fulfillment request, simply click the "Cancel request" button within your Shopify order details.

Fulfillment in Accepted State

If the fulfillment has already been accepted by Gelato, you'll need to request a cancellation before reverting the status. Follow these steps:

  1. Click the "Request cancellation" button within the order details.

  2. Once the cancellation request is sent, select the "Revert to unfulfilled" option.

  3. Confirm the reversion by clicking "Revert to unfulfilled" once more.

After completing these steps, your order status will revert to "Unfulfilled." Please note: Changing the order status in Shopify will not automatically stop order fulfillment in Gelato. To cancel your order in Gelato, please refer to this article.
