This article explains how order statuses in Shopify correspond to order statuses in Gelato when you're using the Gelato Shopify integration.
Understanding Shopify Order Statuses
When your customers place orders for products connected to Gelato, the orders are reflected in both your Shopify and Gelato order histories, but with different order statuses. Here’s a breakdown of how the statuses match up:
Shopify status | Gelato status |
"Unfulfilled" | Not yet passed to Gelato/Order was failed or canceled at the start (i.e fulfillment not accepted on Shopify) |
"In Progress" | "Passed" or "Printed" |
"Fulfilled" | "Shipped" |
"Request Declined" | Passed to Gelato but then canceled or failed on Shopify |
Please note that if the order is not marked as "Paid" in Shopify, it will not be sent through to Gelato.
Keep in mind that some third-party integrations can disrupt the normal order status flow and affect the import process. For example, Klarna’s integration with Shopify is not compatible with Gelato because it can mark orders as Fulfilled before Gelato detects them as Paid.
