How do I manage Not Connected Orders?
Updated over a week ago

This article explains how to manage your Not Connected orders within Gelato. It outlines the steps required to either connect or ignore these orders, ensuring a smooth order fulfillment process.

Understanding Not Connected Orders

When an order appears as Not Connected in your Gelato dashboard, it signifies that the specific item hasn’t been linked to a product in your store or our catalog. This typically occurs when a new product variant, not previously fulfilled through Gelato, is included in an order.

To view your Not Connected orders, simply navigate to the orders section and click on the corresponding order status.

Managing Not Connected Orders

You have two options for managing Not Connected items: Connect or Ignore.

Connect Product

Choose Connect if you want Gelato to fulfill the order. This option allows you to:

  • Connect the item to an existing product in your ecommerce store or custom store.

  • Create a new product using our catalog and your design.

Once connected, the current and all future orders containing the same product variant will be fulfilled automatically.

Ignore Product

Select Ignore if you don't want Gelato to fulfill the order. You have three options when choosing to ignore a product:

  1. Ignore this item for this order. This option provides flexibility for orders you might fulfill through another supplier. Future orders containing this item will appear as Not Connected, allowing you to decide how to fulfill them individually. For example, you can choose to fulfill an order with a local supplier while fulfilling another order for the same item through Gelato.

  2. Ignore this variant for all incoming orders. This option is ideal for specific product variants you consistently fulfill through another supplier. All future orders containing only this variant won't be imported to Gelato. For example, if you use Gelato for T-shirt sizes XS-3XL but another supplier for 4XL and 5XL, you can ignore these larger sizes.

  3. Ignore this product for all incoming orders in all variants. Use this option for products you never want to fulfill through Gelato, regardless of the variant. All future orders for this product, in any variant, won't be imported to Gelato. For example, if you sell wall art and cars, but only fulfill wall art orders through Gelato, you can ignore all car products and their variants.
