Learn how to import your BigCommerce orders into Gelato seamlessly

Updated over 2 months ago

This article provides a comprehensive guide on how to seamlessly import your BigCommerce orders into Gelato, ensuring a smooth order fulfillment process. We'll walk you through activating the import order feature, understanding its benefits, and effectively managing your orders.

Effortless Order Transition from BigCommerce to Gelato

Looking for a streamlined way to fulfill your BigCommerce orders? Gelato has you covered! With our handy "Import Order" function, you can easily bring all your future orders and products over to Gelato. Once activated, any new orders from your BigCommerce store will automatically appear in your Gelato order section under the "Not Connected" tab. This convenient feature gives you complete control over your fulfillment process.

Understanding "Not Connected" Orders

Items listed under "Not Connected" aren't immediately sent for fulfillment. This status allows you to review each order and decide how you want to proceed. You have two options:

  • Connect: Choose this option if you want Gelato to fulfill the order. You can connect the item to an existing product in your eCommerce or custom store on Gelato. Alternatively, you can create a brand new product from our diverse catalog and add your design.

  • Ignore: If you prefer to fulfill the order through a different method or skip it entirely, select "Ignore".

Once you connect an item to Gelato, all future orders containing the same product variant will be automatically processed and fulfilled according to your store settings. This automation saves you time and effort in the long run.

We strongly recommend using the "Import Orders" feature regardless of your order volume or product catalog size. By regularly connecting or ignoring products in your "Not Connected" orders, you'll efficiently build a streamlined fulfillment process for your best-selling items in no time.

Activating Import Orders

Let's get you set up to import orders:

  1. Navigate to "Stores" in your Gelato dashboard.

  2. Select the specific store you want to manage.

  3. Go to "Settings".

  4. Check the box for "Import not connected orders".

  5. Don't forget to save your changes!

Once activated, all new orders from your store will be visible in your Gelato order list. Additionally, you'll receive email notifications for any orders requiring your attention, ensuring you're always in the loop.

Product Connection Options

When you choose to "Connect" a product, you have the flexibility to:

  • Connect to an existing product in your ecommerce or custom store.

  • Create a completely new product from our extensive catalog and personalize it with your design.

This flexibility ensures a streamlined workflow, allowing you to manage your product fulfillment efficiently.

Product Ignore Options

When opting to "Ignore" a product, you have three specific options to choose from:

  • Ignore this item for this order: This option allows you to bypass fulfilling the item through Gelato for the current order. However, any future orders containing this item will still appear as "Not Connected," giving you the choice to connect or ignore them individually. This option is ideal for scenarios where you might use different fulfillment methods based on specific order requirements, such as local deliveries or international shipments.

  • Ignore this variant for all incoming orders: Selecting this option ensures that the specific product variant in the current order will be automatically ignored for all future orders. This is particularly useful if you work with different suppliers or fulfillment methods for certain product variations, such as sizes or colors.

  • Ignore this product for all incoming orders in all variants: This option allows you to completely exclude a product and all its variants from your Gelato order fulfillment process. This is ideal for products you do not intend to fulfill through Gelato, preventing them from appearing in your "Not Connected" orders in the future.
