This article explains how to connect your Squarespace store to Gelato, add products, and sync your inventory. You'll also learn some helpful tips for managing your products efficiently.
Connecting Your Squarespace Store
To start selling Gelato products on your Squarespace website, you first need to connect your store to Gelato:
Go to your Gelato Dashboard > Stores.
Click "Connect new store."
Choose Squarespace from the list of available platforms.
Follow the on-screen instructions to authorize Gelato to access your Squarespace account.
Syncing Existing Products
If you already have products in your Squarespace store, you can easily sync them with Gelato:
Go to your Gelato Dashboard > Stores and click "Sync products" in the top right corner.
This action syncs your Squarespace products to your Gelato dashboard.
Click the product and connect your product variants with the corresponding Gelato products.
Adding Products
Follow these steps to add Gelato products to your Squarespace store:
Go to Stores and choose your Squarespace store. Then, click on Add product. This takes you to the Product Catalogue, where you'll find all the product and product combinations available.
Select a product category (e.g., "Framed posters") and then the product you want to add (e.g., "Classic Matte Paper Wooden Framed Poster").
You'll see all the variations available for the selected product on the left. For example, you can offer your design in two variations, both horizontal with a black frame: 30x40cm and 50x70cm. The chosen variations appear on the right.
Upload your design by clicking Add new > Add image. You can browse your computer for an image. The uploaded image will appear in your Gallery. Click on it to add it to your product.
Customize the design further according to your requirements using the menu at the top.
Add multiple images, text, or use layouts. From the menu on the right, choose whether to apply the same changes to all or only some selected variants. This option is helpful if you're adding different variants that require individual adjustments. Click Continue once you're happy with your design.
Choose how to display the products in your Squarespace store. Gelato offers various scenes to make your designs look stunning and realistic.
Select different mockup styles at the top. At the bottom, you'll see how these styles appear on the uploaded variations. You can choose the main product image and the mockup style for variations.
Choose whether to add mockups as PNGs (larger but transparent files) or JPGs (smaller, faster page loading). More info on mockups can be found here.
Specify product details, including the product title and description. Click Continue.
Set the retail price. You'll see the Gelato price (what Gelato charges you) and the recommended retail price. Adjust the profit using the dedicated controls. Once you're satisfied with the prices, publish the product by clicking Publish in the top right corner.
It might take some time for your product and product variant images to be visible in your SquareSpace store and Gelato dashboard.
Duplicating Products
Duplicate products created via the Gelato dashboard to offer similar products with different artwork or formats. Click the three dots next to the product and select Duplicate. The duplicated product is saved as a draft, which you can review, edit, and then publish to your store. For more details, click here.
