Learn how to add product mockups to your Shopify store

Updated over 2 weeks ago

This article explains how to add product mockups in your Shopify store using the Gelato+Shopify integration.

Adding Mockups

To add mockups to your Shopify products, follow these steps:

  1. Connect your Shopify store to Gelato: If you haven't already, connect your Shopify store to Gelato.

  2. Create a new Gelato product: Create a new Gelato product to add to your Shopify store.

  3. Choose a mockup style: After uploading your design, select how you want to present your product on Shopify. Choose from a variety of scenes to make your designs stand out ("Choose product mockup style").

  4. Select mockups and the primary image: Choose the specific mockups to send to Shopify and select the primary (main) mockup image for your product.

  5. Choose the file format: Decide whether to upload mockups as PNG (larger, transparent files), WebP (smaller, transparent files), or JPG (smaller for faster page loading).

Editing Mockups for Published Products in Shopify

To update the mockups for an existing product in your Shopify store, follow these steps:

  1. Log in to your Shopify admin panel.

  2. In the left-hand menu, click Products.

  3. Find and select the product for which you want to edit the mockups.

  4. In the Media section, hover over the mockup images you wish to remove and check the box that appears.

  5. Click Remove to delete the selected mockups.

Your changes will be saved automatically, and the updated mockups will be visible in your store.

Important Note for Shopify Trial Stores

Shopify doesn't allow adding product images via URL for trial stores. Therefore, product mockup images won't be uploaded during the publishing process for trial Shopify stores connected to Gelato. This limitation applies as long as the trial is active.
