Adding Products from the Gelato Catalog
Adding Gelato products to your Shopify store is quick and easy! Just follow these steps:
Log in to your Gelato account.
From the left-hand menu, navigate to the Stores section.
Select your Shopify store.
Click on 'Create product'.
This will redirect you to our Product Catalogue, where you can effortlessly create a new product by following these simple steps.

Creating a New Gelato Product
Let's walk through the process of creating and adding a brand-new product to your Shopify store from our catalog:
Step 1: Choose Your Desired Product
Start by browsing our extensive product catalog and select the category and product you wish to customize. For instance, let's say you choose "Framed posters" and then select "Classic Matte Paper Wooden Framed Poster". You'll be directed to our intuitive editor, where you can personalize it to your liking.
Step 2: Unleash Your Creativity: Designing Your Product
Our editor provides a user-friendly interface to bring your vision to life. Here's how:
Select Your Variants: Explore the available product configurations, such as size, color, and orientation. Once you've chosen your preferred combinations, they'll appear on the right side of the editor.
Upload Your Design: Click on Add new > Add image to upload your design. Your uploaded image will be saved in your Gallery, located on the left. Click on it to seamlessly add it to your product. Feel free to add multiple images to create visually appealing variations.
Fine-Tune Your Design: Select the image and leverage the intuitive controls in the top menu to fine-tune your design. Adjust elements, experiment with different compositions, and ensure your design perfectly complements the chosen product.
Apply Changes: Choose whether to apply the design changes to all variants or selectively to specific ones. Once satisfied, click Continue to proceed.
Step 3: Showcase Your Products with Stunning Mockups
In this step, you can choose how you want your products to be displayed in your Shopify store. Gelato offers a wide array of scenes to make your designs look stunning and realistic.
Select Mockup Styles: Explore the diverse mockup styles and filter them by scene to find the perfect fit for your product.
Choose Main Image and Mockup Style: Select the main product image and the mockup style you want to use for the variants.
Select File Format: Choose whether to add the mockups as PNGs (larger, transparent files) or JPGs (smaller files for faster loading).
Remember that in Shopify a variant can only have one image that will be in the same mockup style as the main product image. Learn more about mockups here.
Step 4: Provide Essential Product Information
On the product information page, you can tailor the product details to your liking:
Title and Description: Customize the title and description of your product. By default, the product name and description from our catalog will be displayed.
Tags: Add relevant tags to make it easier for customers to discover your products through searches.
Collections: Organize your products by adding them to relevant collections. Note that you can only add products to manual collections.
Product Visibility: Decide whether you want to make the product immediately visible to your store visitors or hide it for now. Hidden products can be made visible later.
Free Shipping: Offer free shipping as an attractive incentive for this product. This will automatically assign the product to a Gelato free shipping profile.
Click Continue to proceed to the next step.
Step 5: Set Your Prices
In this final stage, you can set the price for your product and define your desired profit margin:
Gelato Price: This is the cost Gelato charges for producing the product.
Recommended Retail Price: We provide a suggested retail price based on market analysis, but you have the flexibility to adjust it according to your pricing strategy.
Once you're happy with the pricing, click Publish to make your product live in your store! Remember that the Gelato price only covers the product cost and doesn't include shipping or taxes. You can learn more about our pricing tool here.
Congratulations! You've successfully added a Gelato product to your Shopify store. Your product is now available for purchase.
Duplicating Existing Products for Efficiency
If you need to create multiple similar products with slight variations, such as different artwork or formats, you can save time by duplicating existing Gelato products.
Go to the product you want to duplicate.
Click on the three dots next to the product.
Select Duplicate.
The duplicated product will be created as a draft, allowing you to review, edit, and publish it to your store. Learn more about duplicating products here.
