How do I add Gelato products to my Etsy store?
Updated over a week ago

This article provides a step-by-step guide on how to seamlessly add Gelato products to your Etsy store, allowing you to start selling your unique creations with ease. We'll cover everything from selecting your desired product to setting the perfect price.

Adding Products Directly from Gelato

To add products to your Etsy store directly from Gelato, follow these simple steps:

  1. Go to your Gelato Dashboard.

  2. Navigate to Stores and select your Etsy store.

  3. Click on "Create product".

Let's break down the product creation process in detail:

Choosing and Designing Your Product

  1. Select a product: Browse through Gelato's extensive product catalog and choose the item you want to feature in your Etsy store.

  2. Add your design: This is where your creativity shines! Utilize the left-hand side menu to customize your product with your unique design. You can adjust the orientation, choose between single or double-sided designs, modify the size, and explore various other customization options depending on the product.

The top right of the design screen displays different variants of your chosen product, allowing you to apply unique settings to each.

Creating Stunning Product Mockups

Gelato offers a range of mockup options to present your products in the best light. Choose from various scenes and filters to find the perfect look for your Etsy listings.

You have the flexibility to customize the main product image and mockup style for each variant. Additionally, you can select between PNG (transparent but larger files) and JPG (smaller files for faster page loading) formats for your mockups.

Note: Downloadable mockups are available with a Gelato+ subscription.

Optimizing Product Information

Provide essential details for your product:

  • Title and Description: Use compelling language to attract potential buyers. You can start with Gelato's default product name and description and tailor them to your liking.

  • Tags: Add relevant tags to make it easier for customers to discover your products while searching on Etsy.

  • Publishing Options: Choose to publish your product directly or save it as a draft. Saving as a draft allows you to make changes before going live and avoids any Etsy listing fees until you're ready.

  • Free Shipping: Enable this option to assign your product to a free shipping profile automatically.

Disabling the "Show product to store visitors" option will save your product as a draft in the Drafts section of your Etsy Listings page.

Setting Your Product Price

Gelato provides a handy pricing tool to help you determine the best prices for your products. You can see both the Gelato price (the cost of production) and the recommended retail price. Feel free to adjust these prices to align with your desired profit margin.

Remember: The displayed Gelato price only covers the product cost and doesn't include shipping fees or applicable taxes.

Once you're satisfied with the pricing, click Publish in the top-right corner to make your product live on Etsy.

After publishing, you can find your newly listed product in the Listings section of your Etsy shop.

Important: Avoid changing the SKU value for connected products in your Etsy Shop Manager, as this will disrupt the integration with Gelato.

Duplicating Existing Products

To offer similar products with different designs or formats, you can easily duplicate existing products within your Gelato dashboard.

Simply click the three dots next to the product you wish to duplicate and select Duplicate. The duplicated product will be saved as a draft, ready for you to review, edit, and publish to your Etsy store.
