Learn how to import Shopify orders to Gelato, connect products individually, or use bulk connect for efficient product migration

Updated over 3 months ago

This article provides a comprehensive guide on seamlessly transitioning your existing Shopify products to Gelato for fulfillment. Whether you're currently working with a different supplier or simply seeking a more streamlined approach, Gelato offers various methods to simplify the process, ensuring your products are readily available for your customers.

Moving Products from Shopify to Gelato

Before initiating the product transfer, it's crucial to verify if the "Track quantity" feature is enabled for products created directly within Shopify. If activated, this feature might lead to inaccurate out-of-stock statuses for your products once connected to Gelato. Disabling this feature ensures accurate inventory management.

Gelato offers three primary options for migrating your Shopify products:

Import Orders

This highly recommended method streamlines future order and product transitions to Gelato. By utilizing the Import Order functionality, all new Shopify orders are mirrored as drafts in Gelato, initially marked as "Not Connected." This approach grants you granular control, allowing you to connect or disregard individual items within each order. Once an order item is connected, all subsequent orders containing the same product will be processed automatically based on your store's predefined settings.

Connect Individual Products

For merchants with a limited number of products in their Shopify store, connecting each product to Gelato individually offers a straightforward approach.

Bulk Connect Products

The bulk connect feature is designed for merchants managing a substantial product catalog, enabling the seamless import and connection of hundreds or even thousands of products and their variants to Gelato simultaneously.
