This article explains how the sender name on shipping labels is set and how you can change it. You'll also learn about the current limitations regarding sender names and logos on shipping labels.
Understanding the Sender's Name
When an order is imported from your store, your store name is used as the sender name on the shipping label by default. If you import orders through API integration, Order Desk, or manually input them, your company name will appear as the sender. The address on the label will be the address of Gelato's print partner. This helps manage any return of undeliverable items.
Changing Your Store Name
You can easily change the sender name on your shipping labels by updating your store name. Here's how:
Go to the Stores page.
Locate the store you want to update.
Edit the store name in the settings.
Save your changes.
Managing Multiple Stores
If you have multiple online stores connected to your Gelato account, you can change the name of each store individually. Gelato automatically reflects the correct store name on the shipping label based on which store the order is placed through.
Current Limitations
We're continuously working to improve our platform, but there are a couple of limitations at the moment:
Shipping Carrier Restrictions: Due to technical limitations with some shipping carriers, your store name may not always appear on the shipping label. If this happens, your customer will see "Fulfillment Center" as the sender. Don't worry; they won't know Gelato is involved.
Adding Your Logo: Currently, adding your logo to the shipping label isn't possible.
