Learn how to switch to credit card payments for Gelato orders, set up a backup card, and manage refunds

Updated over a week ago

This article explains how to use your credit card for Gelato orders instead of your Gelato Wallet balance. You'll also learn about setting up a backup credit card for uninterrupted service.

Paying with your credit card

To use your credit card as your default payment method, you need to first withdraw any existing balance from your Gelato Wallet. You can learn how to do that here.

Next, you need to disable the automatic top-up feature for your Gelato Wallet. Follow these steps:

  1. Go to the Gelato Dashboard and click on Your Initials in the upper right corner of the screen.

  2. Select Billing > Payment > Wallets.

  3. Click on the three dots in the relevant wallet section and choose Edit Wallet to make changes.

Once you've completed these steps, all your future orders will be charged to your credit card.

Setting up a backup credit card

To prevent any interruptions with your orders, you can add a backup credit card to your account. This way, if there are any issues with your primary card, the system will automatically charge the backup card.

Here's how to set up a backup credit card:

  1. Go to Wallets > Setup automatic top-up.

  2. Follow the prompts to add your backup credit card details.

Refunds

Please note that even if you choose to pay with a credit card, all refunds will be credited back to your Gelato Wallet. For more information about our refund policy, please refer to this article.
