How to sell bundles?
Updated over a week ago

This article explains how to sell multiple products together as one bundled product in your store.

Setting up Your Bundle

To get started, you'll need to create your bundled product within your ecommerce platform. For example, let's say you want to offer a set of three framed art prints designed to be displayed together. Here’s how to set up this bundle:

  1. Create the bundle listing in your ecommerce store (not in Gelato). Include all the usual product information, such as a title, description, image, and price. For our example, the bundle includes three different framed posters featuring flower artwork.

  2. Set individual prices for each item in your bundle within Gelato (we don’t offer bundle pricing). You’ll pay Gelato the full price for each item in the bundle, but you control the final retail price in your store.

Creating Individual Products in Gelato

Next, you’ll need to set up each product from your bundle as an individual product within Gelato. Here’s how:

  1. Go to your store section and select the store where your bundle is set up.

  2. Follow the standard steps for creating a product. This includes designing your artwork, selecting mockups, adding product details, and setting prices.

  3. If you only want to offer these items as part of your bundle, make sure to deselect “Show product to store visitors” on the product details page. This will save the product as a draft in your ecommerce store, so it won’t be available for individual purchase. If you want to sell these items individually, too, you can leave this option selected.

  4. Click “Publish product.”

  5. Repeat these steps for each product included in your bundle.

Fulfilling Bundle Orders

Because your bundle is made up of multiple Gelato products, you’ll need to fulfill bundle orders in Gelato by adding the individual products to the order. This process ensures each item is printed and shipped correctly. To make sure bundle orders flow into your Gelato dashboard, you’ll need to enable a setting in your Gelato account. Go to Stores > [Your Store Name] -> Settings and enable "Import not connected orders.”

When a customer places an order for your bundle, you'll see it in your Gelato order list as “Not connected.”

To fulfill the order:

  1. Click on the order and select “Complete order.”

  2. Next, click “Edit” to edit the order.

  6. Repeat this process for each product included in the bundle.

  7. Click “Ignore” on the original bundled product, making sure to choose the option to ignore it only for this order. This step ensures that the next time a customer orders this bundle, you’ll receive a new “Not connected” order to fulfill.

Once you've added all the products and ignored the bundled product, the order status will change to “Pending approval.” You can then proceed to the shipping and payment pages to finalize the order.

Important Considerations

Keep in mind that tracking codes can’t be sent to your store automatically when you ignore the original bundled product. You can add tracking information manually or send it to your customer directly.
