Updated over a week ago

This article provides guidance on the immediate actions to take if you suspect credit card fraud, emphasizing the importance of reporting to your bank and monitoring your accounts.

Reporting Suspected Fraud

If you believe your credit card information has been compromised, it's crucial to act swiftly to minimize potential damage. Immediately contact your bank and report the suspected fraud. Your bank can then take steps to block your card and secure your account, preventing further unauthorized transactions.

If you suspect your payment details were used fraudulently to place an order through Gelato, please get in touch with us. Provide the payment confirmation receipt so we can investigate the transaction and attempt to block the fraudulent order.

Steps While Awaiting Bank Support

While waiting for support from your bank, take the following proactive steps:

  1. Review your bank and credit card statements meticulously for any unauthorized charges or debits. Pay close attention to unfamiliar transactions, even those for small amounts.

  2. Be wary of unsolicited calls or emails requesting you to "verify" your account information. Legitimate institutions rarely contact customers in this manner. If you receive such a request, do not provide any personal or financial information. Instead, contact your bank directly using the phone number on the back of your card or through their official website to verify the legitimacy of the request.
