This article provides a comprehensive guide on how to check product prices on Gelato, including how to view prices in different currencies and download price lists. We'll also cover how to factor in local tax rates for a more accurate pricing estimate.
Checking Product Prices
You can easily find the prices for all Gelato products directly in our Product Catalog within the Dashboard.
To check the price of a specific product, follow these steps:
Go to your Product Catalog on the sidebar of your Dashboard.
Select the category of the product you're interested in (e.g., Wall art).
Choose the specific subcategory (e.g., Posters).
Select the exact product (e.g., Classic Matte Paper Poster).
Pick the format/size you want (e.g., 30x30cm or 40x40cm).
The price will automatically update on the page based on the format you select.
Prices shown in the catalog do not include taxes. The final price with taxes is calculated at checkout. To learn more about how taxes are applied, check out our article on Getting Started with Taxes.
Viewing Prices in Different Currencies
To see prices in your preferred currency:
Click the dropdown menu located in the top right corner.
Select "Display Currency."
Choose your desired currency from the list.
The prices on the page will automatically update to reflect the new currency.
Downloading Price Lists
You can download a price list for all formats of a specific product. Here's how:
Ensure you have set your preferred display currency as explained in the previous section.
Go to the product page (e.g., Classic Matte Paper Poster) and click "Full price list."
A window will appear showing the prices for all formats of that product. Choose your destination country and click "Download" to get the price list as a CSV file.
The downloaded CSV file, just like the catalog, shows prices without taxes.
Including Local Tax Rates
To get a price estimate that includes your local tax rates:
Download the price list for your desired product as explained in the previous section.
Open the CSV file in a spreadsheet program like Microsoft Excel, LibreOffice Calc, or Google Sheets.
Use formulas to calculate the estimated price with your local tax rate. For instance, if your tax rate is 20% and the product price is in column C, you could use the following formulas:
Extract the price without currency code: =left(C2,4) (enter this in a new cell, e.g., G2)
Calculate the tax amount: =G2*0.2 (enter in another cell, e.g., H2)
Calculate the final price: =G2+H2
This will give you an estimated price inclusive of your local tax rate. Please note that the actual tax rate may vary depending on several factors, and the final tax amount will be calculated during checkout.
