Learn how to use product templates to streamline new product creation

Updated over 2 weeks ago

This article explains how to streamline the process of creating new products by using product templates, which help you save time and maintain consistency.

Understanding Product Templates

A product template is a pre-defined set of information that serves as a starting point for new products. They include common product details like name, description, images, and pricing, allowing you to quickly populate essential information and focus on customization.

Using Product Templates

Product templates are created at the account level, making them accessible across all associated stores. Here's how to use them:

  • Product Creation: When creating a new product, select a template to pre-populate the product information. Review, make necessary changes, and publish.

  • Manual Orders: Templates can also be used when placing manual orders. Select a template, review the pre-populated information, and proceed with the order.

While publishing multiple product types within a single template is currently not supported, you can still publish the template to your online store and utilize the product expansion feature.

Pricing Profiles

Experience the power of Pricing Profiles, a game-changing feature designed to ensure price consistency across multiple stores and currencies.

Benefits of Pricing Profiles:

  • Store-Specific Pricing: Set precise prices for each store and currency, eliminating reliance on automatic currency conversions.

  • Eliminate Rounding Errors: Say goodbye to inaccurate pricing caused by currency conversions. Pricing Profiles guarantee accurate pricing across all your stores.

  • Centralized Control: Manage and adjust prices effortlessly within the pricing profile settings, giving you complete control over your pricing strategies.

  • Automated Application: Pricing profiles are automatically applied when a product is added to a store, simplifying your workflow.

  • Default Fallback: In cases where a custom pricing profile isn't available, the system will default to your predefined default profile, ensuring consistent pricing.

How Pricing Profiles Work:

  1. Create a new pricing profile for each currency you need.

  2. Customize product prices within each profile to align with specific market demands.

  3. Seamlessly switch between different profiles to compare and manage your pricing strategies.

  4. Enjoy automatic price application when a product is added to a store, streamlining your workflow.

  5. Benefit from the default profile fallback, ensuring consistent pricing even without a custom profile.
