Why my Shopify store is in status "Require Reconnection"

To comply with Shopify’s updated requirements, we have implemented changes to the Gelato app. These updates include a mandatory new access scope.


What’s Changing?

Shopify now requires all integrations, including Gelato, to use updated access scopes for publishing products. This means you may need to reconnect your Shopify store to Gelato to continue using the integration.

If your store is affected, it will show the status "Require Reconnection" after attempting to publish your next product.


How to Reconnect Your Store

To resolve publishing errors and grant the new access scope, follow these steps:

  1. Access the Stores List: Log in to your Gelato account and navigate to the Stores section.

  2. Click “Reconnect”: Locate your Shopify store and click the “Reconnect” button.

  3. Approve New Scope: Follow the prompts to grant the required permissions.

Once these steps are completed, your store will resume normal operation.


Important Notes

  • Orders placed during the time your store is in the status "Require Reconnection" will not be imported - no worries though, the reconnection process will only take a minute!

  • If your store was connected or reconnected after November 28, 2024, no further action is needed - the new scope will already be in use.

  • Your products will remain connected throughout the reconnection process. There is no risk of losing product connections.
