How Can I Move My WooCommerce Products To Gelato In Bulk?

Learn how to bulk migrate WooCommerce products to Gelato by preparing a CSV with Product UID and File URL

Updated over a week ago

This article provides a streamlined process for efficiently migrating a large catalog of WooCommerce products to Gelato. It outlines the steps involved, focusing on a bulk upload method to simplify the transition for merchants with numerous products.

Initiating Your Migration from WooCommerce to Gelato

To begin the bulk migration of your WooCommerce products to Gelato, reach out to Gelato representatives. They will provide you with a structured CSV file designed for this process.

Before proceeding, ensure you have your ready-to-print design files organized and uploaded to a reliable hosting service. We recommend using Dropbox for easy file sharing. Please note that Google Drive is not currently supported for this purpose.

Preparing Your CSV File for Upload

The provided CSV file will have two key columns that need to be populated with specific information for each product variant:

Product UID

This column requires the Gelato product/variant SKU that corresponds to the specific product you want to be printed and fulfilled when an order is placed.

To find the correct Product UID:

  1. Navigate to the Gelato product catalog and locate the desired product.

  2. Select the appropriate size, color, and any other relevant variant options.

  3. Scroll down to find the blue copy icon (as shown in the image below) and click it to copy the Product UID.

Paste this copied Product UID into the corresponding cell within the 'Product_UID' column for that specific variant. Repeat this process for all product variants.

File URL

In this column, you'll provide a direct, downloadable link to the print file associated with each product variant. Ensure that this link is publicly accessible and doesn't require any login credentials to download.

For Dropbox users, follow these instructions to create a shareable link that allows direct downloads.

Accepted file formats for your print files are PNG, JPEG, and PDF. If your products involve personalized designs, a blank image can be used for the File URL.

Please note, that we suggest using files no larger than 100mb in size to ensure a smooth upload.

Once you have filled in both columns for all variants, your CSV file is ready for the final step.

Finalizing Your Product Migration

After completing the CSV file, send it to our support team. Our team will process the migration, ensuring all your variants are correctly linked and configured for automatic fulfillment through Gelato.

Important Note: While we handle the technical migration, we cannot make any edits to your design files. It's crucial to ensure that all files are print-ready and finalized before submitting your CSV.
