Why is the "Personalize Design" Button Missing on Shopify?

If the "Personalize Design" button is not visible in your Shopify store's checkout, it could be due to one of the following reasons:

  • You haven't added any products with customizable elements. Learn how to add customizable products here.

  • Your current theme may not support this feature. Refer to the list of supported themes below to check compatibility.

  • The CSS class selector btn-addtocart needs to be added to the "Add to Cart" button HTML. For detailed instructions on how to do this, please consult your Shopify theme's documentation or reach out to the theme developer.

  • The tag <div data-gelato-customization="1"></div> might be missing from your product description's HTML. This tag is typically added automatically during the product publishing process but might have been removed if you edited the product description directly through Shopify.

  1. Log in to your Gelato dashboard.

  2. Navigate to the Store section from the left menu tab.

  3. Open your store, then click on Settings (located next to the Add product button).

  4. Ensure the following options are unchecked:

    • Show the “Add to cart” button on the product detail page

    • Show the “Buy it now” button on the product detail page

  5. Click Save Changes.
