By working with files, you can update variant details, change UIDs, manage marketplace prices, and more — all in one seamless workflow. This guide will walk you through how to use this feature to save time and simplify product management.
Connect products using files
A streamlined process for efficiently transitioning a large catalog of products from your store to Gelato.

This guide will then walk you through the other features available with Bulk Connect with Files, each designed to help you manage your products and variants more efficiently.
Connect and create variants
Update existing product variants or create new variants for existing products in bulk, using a prototype as a reference for file adjustments. To get started please refer to the instructions here
Example: A prototype T-shirt with 4 variants → You can connect or create the same 4 variants or fewer for other existing T-shirt products, and the same file adjustments will be applied.
To proceed: Create a prototype product and upload a CSV file with the Product ID, Variant ID, Product UID, Price, Print File URL, Mockup (Enter "Yes" or "No" to indicate whether to replicate the prototype’s mockup), Template Variant ID (Only required if the same UID is repeated in the template variants)
Create products from the template
Generate new products in bulk by using an existing template as a reference. For detailed instructions please refer to the guide here.
Example: A template T-shirt with 4 variants → You can create new T-shirt products with the same 4 variants, and the same file adjustments will be replicated.
To proceed: Create a template product and upload a CSV file with the Product Title, Product Description, Product UID (allows different print files per variant, but the variant UIDs will match the template), Print File URL, and Mockup (works the same as the previous feature, default is "Yes").
Update product designs
Easily update the designs of your connected products in bulk. For detailed instructions please refer to the guide here.
Example: If you have a T-shirt with four variants and want to update the design, you can upload a new file, and the change will be applied to all variants.
To proceed: Download the CSV file, add the new Print File URLs for the products you want to update, and upload the file again. Your changes will be applied automatically.
Update product mockups
Easily update the mockups of your connected products in bulk using a reference product. For detailed instructions please refer to the guide here.
Example: Enter a Reference Product ID to copy its mockups to other products. This ensures all selected products have the same mockups without needing manual updates.
To proceed: Connect a product with the new mockups, download the CSV file, retain the product data for the items you want to update, and upload it again. The new mockups will replace the existing ones.
Find your reference product ID
You can copy the product ID directly from the URL when viewing the product in your Gelato dashboard. It’s the unique string at the end of the link, like this:
https://dashboard.gelato.com/stores/{store-id}/products/edit/{product-id}
Here, {product-id} is the unique identifier for your product.
