Learn how to optimize print results for drinkware

Updated over 2 weeks ago

This article provides valuable tips for designing artwork to be printed on mugs, ensuring optimal print quality and visual appeal.

Image Resolution

Use image files with a resolution of 300 dpi (dots per inch) at the final print size. High-resolution images are crucial for sharp, clear, and professional-looking prints on mugs.

Color Selection

Opt for bold and vibrant colors in your mug designs. Strong colors reproduce more effectively on ceramic surfaces compared to pastel shades or fine tints, which may appear faded or less vibrant.

Shape Distortion on Mugs

Be aware that the conical shape of certain mugs, such as the 15oz Travel Mugs and 17oz Latte Mugs, can cause slight distortion to your artwork. Here's what to consider:

  • Circles in your design may appear as ellipses on the printed mug.

  • Other design elements may also be slightly altered in shape.

  • Importantly, horizontal lines in your artwork will remain straight on the final product despite the distortion.
