Before you start adding products, it's crucial to configure your shipping profiles. TikTok offers both TikTok shipping and seller shipping options. If you're selling custom products, you'll likely use seller shipping. Ensure you have a list of currently supported shipping providers for TikTok, as this will impact your integration with Gelato.

Just like other e-commerce platforms, TikTok has a sophisticated interface for managing and creating new products. Access your store's interface to begin the process.

Once you're in the interface, navigate to the product management section. Here, you can create new products. If you're using Gelato, some products might already be pushed from Gelato's side. However, you can also create new products directly within the TikTok interface.

  1. Go to Manage Products > Click Add New Product. Uploading products requires you to provide information in the following process:

    • Basic information

    • Media

    • Product Details

    • Sales information

    • Shipping & Warranty

  2. Save as Draft or Publish Product:

    • Saves the current description but doesn't submit the product to the QC process. You can continue to edit this product later.

    • Submits the product to the QC process.

  3. Add brand recommendations by logging into the Seller Center > Product > Manage Products > Click "Add New Product" > Upload the profile pictures and fill in the title > Click anywhere blank to trigger the category recommendation and brand recommendation.

If multiple brands are suggested, manually confirm which brand to select or create new brand names if the brands do not yet exist.

Here TikTok offers additional tools such as Optimize product information and Find product opportunities. Take advantage of these tools to enhance your product listings and discover new opportunities for selling.

TikTok has strict listing policies for products. Ensure that you're familiar with these policies to avoid any issues with your listings. You can find comprehensive details in the TikTok Shop Academy.

Products on TikTok can have various statuses such as active, inactive, reviewing, suspended, or draft. Understand what each status means to effectively manage your product listings, more information on product statuses is available here. For example, products in the reviewing status are being checked for compliance with listing policies.

If you're using Gelato for integration with TikTok, follow the guidelines for product integration and review processes. Gelato may handle the in-review status of products before they're available for purchase.
