This article explains how to automate your order workflow by connecting Shopify personalization apps with your Gelato account. By configuring this feature, you can streamline your order fulfillment process, saving time and reducing manual effort.
Enabling Automatic Print File Processing
Follow these steps to enable automatic print file processing from your Shopify personalization apps:
Go to the Stores section in your Gelato dashboard.
Locate the specific store where you want to activate this feature.
Click on the three-dot menu to the right of the store name and select "Edit store details."
In the Automatic processing of print files from apps section, enter the Print file field name provided by your app developer. You can add multiple field names if needed.
Save your changes.
To ensure seamless file processing, you need to provide the exact name of the field where your Shopify personalization app stores the print files. You can obtain this information in two ways:
Contact the support team of your personalization app (e.g., Proofer, Posterly) and request the Print file field name.
If you have technical expertise, you can examine the order data structure within your Shopify store to identify the field containing the print file information.
How It Works
Once you've enabled this feature and provided the correct field name, Gelato will automatically fetch the print files from your Shopify personalization app for each order. This integration streamlines the order fulfillment process, eliminating the need for manual file uploads. You can preview the personalized product with the customer's artwork directly on the order details page. The automation works for both automatic and manual order approval workflows.
