Learn how to use the Calendar Events feature to offer your customers personalized calendars

Updated this week

This article explains how to use the Calendar Events feature, which allows you to provide customers with personalized calendars. You can include pre-loaded events, customize calendars with your events, and enable customers to further personalize their calendars with their special dates.

Pre-loaded Events

Our system comes pre-loaded with public holidays and key dates for various countries. For example, you can offer calendars that include:

  • New Year’s Day

  • Good Friday

  • Easter Monday

This localization is automatically handled based on the customer's region. For instance, if your customer is from Germany, the calendar will display German public holidays.

Enabling Pre-loaded Events

To enable this feature, follow these steps:

  1. Create a Calendar Product: Set up a standard calendar product in your store.

  2. Activate Events Tab: In the calendar editor, go to the "Events" tab and toggle the setting to display events on the calendar.

  3. Automatic Public Holidays: Select the option to automatically add public holidays based on the customer's country. If this is disabled, US public holidays will be listed in your customer's “Events” tab by default.

Customer Personalization

Your customers can further personalize their calendar on the Shopify side:

  1. Personalize Design: When customers select "Personalize Design" in your Shopify store, they'll see all pre-loaded events, including public holidays and custom events.

  2. Turn Events On/Off: Customers can disable any events they don't want to appear on their calendar.

  3. Add Custom Events: Customers can add their own special events, such as "Family Vacation" or "Pet's Birthday."

Final Product

The customer's final calendar will contain:

  • Public Holidays: Based on their country/region.

  • Your Custom Events: Any special events you've added.

  • Customer's Own Events: Any personal events added by the customer.

Customers can easily turn specific events on or off before printing to ensure a personalized product.
